This Privacy Policy explains what information the Good Air app and widgets (together, the "App") and this website use, why we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. Good Air is developed and published by Asha Singh ("we", "us", "our").

1. Information we collect and how we use it

Location (optional)

If you allow it, the App uses your device's location to find the nearest air quality monitoring stations, show local air quality and weather, and keep the "nearby" home screen widget current. We ask only for "While Using the App" permission and request location at roughly 100-metre accuracy. The App does not track your location in the background or build a location history.

Your location is processed on your device. To fetch results, the App sends your coordinates directly to the data and mapping services listed in section 2. It is not sent to or stored on our servers. The App keeps your most recent location and place name on your device so the widget can load quickly.

Location is optional. If you decline, you can still search for and save cities by name.

Saved cities and searches

Cities you save, and your settings (such as AQI standard, units, theme, language and notification preferences), are stored only on your device. When you search for a city, the text you type is sent to Apple Maps to suggest matching places.

Usage and diagnostic data

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the App is used and to improve it. It collects:

This data is not linked to your identity, and we don't combine it with other data about you. The App does not access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA/AAID). The App also uses Firebase Remote Config to receive configuration settings.

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may also provide us with crash reports and performance data.

Notifications (optional)

If you turn on daily summaries or air quality alerts, they are scheduled and delivered on your device. We don't use push notification tokens or send notifications from a server.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to resolve your request.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect your name, phone number, contacts, photos, health or fitness data, financial or payment information, or advertising identifiers.

We share information only with the service providers the App needs to work. We share only what each service needs:

Any network request also exposes your IP address to the service receiving it. We don't send these services your name, contact details or any identifier that links requests to you.

We may also disclose information if required by law or a valid legal request, to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the App. In that case, this Policy will continue to apply to your information.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

3. How long we keep data, and deleting it

We don't know who you are, so there's no account to delete. To stop analytics collection, delete the App; this also resets the Firebase app instance identifier. You can ask us to delete any data we hold about you, including your emails, by writing to us at the address below.

4. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. You may also have the right to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority. These include rights under the EU/UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. To exercise any of them, email us. We won't discriminate against you for doing so. We will respond within 30 days, or sooner if the law requires.

5. Security

All connections between the App and the services it uses are encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We keep as little data as possible: there are no accounts, and no personal data or location is stored on our servers. That limits what could ever be exposed. Your device's operating system protects the data stored on it.

6. International transfers

We are based in India, and our service providers operate globally. Your information may therefore be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, those transfers rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the providers' Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Children

The App is a general-audience weather and air quality app. It is not directed at children under 13, or under the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy, for example when we add features. We will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we will also let you know in the App before they take effect.
